Friday – Workshops

Character building in Dungeons and Dragons

Host: Petra van Dam

What are the elements of a character in Dungeons and Dragons? How do you use these elements to build your character sheet? These questions will be answered during this workshop! Come join Petra van Dam and build the character of your dreams.

Galaxy painting: Bob Ross-style

Host: Heidi van der Vloet

With brushes and sponges, you can combat the void of the universe and the black canvas and you will make your very own beautiful galaxy-painting! Some more happy little mistakes here and there, and the alien invasion can begin! Heidi will run the Kessel Run in 45 minutes together with you – what will sprout from your imagination?

Pitch perfect

Host: Renske de Wolf

Do you dream about becoming a published author? It doesn’t matter whether you have already finished writing your book or whether you are just about to start your author journey. In this workshop From Dream to Debut, Renske de Wolf, author of The Crowfield Chronicles, will teach you how to write the perfect pitch so you can hook your audience, and start querying agents and publishers!

Because being a writer doesn’t stop after writing your book, Renske will also talk about the less popular parts of being a writer: how to market your brand as an author, and how to make sure people actually buy your book.

Solar punk

Host: Francesco Verso

Solarpunk: a new vision for a sustainable, tech-wise way of living. Solarpunk has its center in political practice and experimentation with alternative technologies; aesthetically, Solarpunk tries to merge ecologically sustainable solutions with the upcoming technologies in renewable energies, 3D printing, Big Data, and A.I to tackle the challenges posed to humanity by hypercapitalism and biopolitical forces. With origins in Science Fiction and radical environmentalism, Solarpunk promotes decentralized infrastructures, community engagement, and do-it-yourself attitude.
