Pen debuted in 2017 with the fantasy novel ‘Wintercode’, which she also illustrated and for which she received a grant from Flanders Literature. She was the first genre-author in the Low Countries to receive such a grant. In 2021, her YA fantasy book ‘Subuniverse’ was released, followed in 2024 by a prequel: ‘The Distortian Line’. For Pen, there is nothing more dear than the mission to nurture people’s imaginations and build a more beautiful, tolerant world through fantasy reading and writing. Pen Stewart teaches fantasy writing, and does author residencies in schools, libraries, and universities, online as well as live, in English or Dutch.
